Massive flooding and oil pollution

In June 2016, following record rainfall, the entire Loiret department was affected by major flooding. Similarly in May 2018, part of the Mayenne department was affected by extremely violent storms, causing localized flooding. Same causes, same consequences: at the time of the flooding, significant hydrocarbon pollution was identified following the overturning of numerous fuel tanks in the garages of the inhabitants and shopkeepers of these 2 departments. Séché Urgences Interventions was contacted by several municipalities in the Loiret and Mayenne departments in order to mobilize its teams to clean up all the subsoils polluted by hydrocarbons.

For these two operations, our teams worked with 200 disaster victims.

Due to the exigency of the work site we have put in place specific means:

Skimmers that rotated for 10 days in order to recover separately the fuel oil present in the basements.
Pumps and hydrocureurs in order to empty the impacted basements.

Means of safeguard -fans, dehumidifiers- in order to dry as quickly as possible the flooded basements.

Means of managing waste to be disposed of following flooding (paint cans, varnish, weed killer, aerosols …)

Faced with these large-scale operations, Séché Urgences Interventions was able to count on the mobilization of its teams and the entire Séché Group, nearly 30 people worked 7 days a week for 15 days on these operations.
