Prisca Thévenot visits our Changé site in the Mayenne region of France
The French Minister for Democratic Renewal and Government Spokeswoman, visiting Mayenne on May 17, 2024, chose to visit the Group's historic site in Changé to illustrate the Ecological Transition of industry and territories.
Accompanied by Marie-Aimée Gaspari, Préfète de la Mayenne, Sous-préfet Eric Biergeon, Patrick Peniguel, maire de Changé and Florian Bercault, maire de Laval, Prisca Thévenot was welcomed by Joël Séché, president and founder of the Séché Environnement group, to visit our multi-filières environmental cluster, and in particular its unit producinglow-carbon energy from fractions of household waste or furniture that cannot be recycled.
Thanks to these Combustibles Solides de Récupération, or CSR, the site supplies heat to the equivalent of 6,400 homes in the city of Laval in winter and, in summer, to the neighboring agricultural cooperative Déshyouest. A first in France!
Also committed to the circular economy and the preservation of biodiversity, our site thus produces from waste an energy substitute for fossil fuels, and asserts itself as a major asset for the decarbonation of the Mayenne region and its industry.
