UniTri: foundation stone laid for an innovative, responsible sorting center for household packaging
A high-performance sorting center
TRINOVIA has been chosen by the Société Publique Locale UniTri, which groups together 13 local authorities from five départements (Maine-et-Loire, Vendée, Loire-Atlantique, Deux-Sèvres and Vienne), to operate the interregional sorting center for household packaging.
The sorting center, on which work is scheduled to last until December 2024, will be tasked with sorting and recovering household packaging (paper, cardboard, plastic, metal) from more than a million inhabitants, i.e. around 48,000 tons a year. It will thus meet the objectives of the French Energy Transition Act, which calls for increasing the recycling rate of waste and reducing its environmental impact.
A project creating jobs and integration
The project led by UniTri will have a positive social impact, creating 70 local jobs, including 40 recovery agents on integration contracts. These agents will be trained in the sorting and recycling professions, and will benefit from personalized support to promote their professional integration. The UNITRI sorting center will also be a place for awareness-raising and education, welcoming visits from schoolchildren, associations and private individuals, to help them discover the issues and stages involved in sorting and recycling household packaging.
An alliance of independent, family-run businesses
TRINOVIA was born of the desire of two groups, Brangeon Environnement and Séché Environnement, to pool their skills and experience in waste management. These two independent, family-run companies, established in the Greater West of France for several decades, share the same values of proximity, quality and responsibility. They are recognized for their expertise in the collection, treatment and recovery of waste, whether of industrial origin or from local authorities.
