Séché Environnement and Eiffage Route inaugurate the SOVATRISE recycling platform
An innovative partnership
Séché Eco Services (SES), a subsidiary of Séché Environnement specializing in the decontamination, dismantling and rehabilitation of industrial sites, and Eiffage Route, an expert in the management of roadworks and urban developments, have joined forces to set up a platform dedicated to the treatment and recovery of soil in the heart of the Lyon metropolitan area. SOVATRISE responds to the needs of major local development and infrastructure sites, which are often constrained by space and deadlines, with a focus on short circuits.
The SOVATRISE platform is located in the heart of Lyon’s metropolitan area
With a total surface area of 16,500 m2, the platform operated by Séché Eco Services (SES) teams can accommodate up to 150,000 tons/year of non-inert soil or concrete. It is designed as a multi-channel tool for identifying, isolating the polluted fractions contained in soil and eliminating all types of pollution thanks to targeted technical solutions : sorting, screening, washing, physico-chemical treatment, biological treatment or thermal treatment.
A circular economy and biodiversity preservation solution
After these decontamination operations, the 2nd life materials obtained (fertile substrate, aggregates, materials for road use…) can be reused following a sober approach in substitution for natural resources, while retaining perfect traceability. Indeed, SOVATRISE’s ambition, through its sorting and processing of non-inert excavated material, is to maximize the value of these materials in local development projects.
Thanks to the rehabilitation of land through the reclamation of brownfield sites in the Auvergne-Rhône Alpes region, SOVATRISE contributes to the ” zero net artificialisation ” target for 2050, set out in the ”Climate and Resilience Law” of August 22, 2021, and to the preservation of agricultural land and biodiversity.
The fruit of the first collaboration in the AURA region between a public works company and a waste management player, this innovative platform strengthens the circular economy loop for materials, one of the strategic axes of the ecological transition approach shared by the Séché Environnement and Eiffage groups.
