Séché Healthcare Rennes
Safeguarding healthcare professionals and patients
PIMW includes all medical waste that could contain infectious substances.
For example, sharps and soft waste such as blood bags and waste from operating theaters:
- Syringes and needles
- Used compresses
- Masks
- Clothing worn by hospital personnel
- Soiled sheets, etc.
We provide safe and tailored waste management solutions to healthcare professionals including veterinarians, doctors, dentists, nurses, gynecologists and healthcare establishments such as clinical laboratories, care homes, clinics and hospitals.
Our processes fully comply with regulatory requirements governing this kind of waste. We therefore supply our clients with suitable containers to collect the different types of PIMW, which we then treat to eliminate the infectious substances and make them safe to handle. Once decontaminated, the waste is safely transferred to the appropriate treatment and recovery channels.

Our equipment
Decontamination unit
The decontamination unit grinds up potentially infectious waste and heats it to 100°C. This process eliminates the risk of infection and reduces the volume of waste, so it can then be treated as household waste.

Making the collection process greener
We signed up to the voluntary “CO2 commitment” charter drawn up in partnership with the French environment agency, ADEME, and the French Ministry of Ecological Transition. The charter aims to reduce the fuel consumed by our vehicle fleet, initially by optimizing our routes and rounds. As such, we actively reduce the number of trucks on the roads, and improve our carbon footprint, helping to better protect the environment.
