Towards a more circular economy
At our Calais center, the Opale Environnement team sorts non-hazardous waste from neighboring industries and local authorities.
We sort Waste from Economic Activities (WEEE) and wood waste, in order to extract as many recyclable materials as possible (plastics, paper and cardboard, metals, wood, glass, plaster). The non-recyclable part of this waste is sent to our landfill site at Sainte-Marie-Kerque, a few kilometers from Calais.

We exploit the biomethane naturally released by the stored waste. As a key local player in the circular economy, we are helping to preserve resources and bring neighborhood solutions to the region.
