The La Croix-Irtelle eco-facility is our treatment and recovery center for non-hazardous waste in Brittany and the Loire-Atlantique department of north-western France.
In an effort to preserve resources, we have developed specific solutions to extract all recyclable material from the waste we handle. To make this possible, our sorting center boasts two specific platforms for wood and mineral waste. Bottom ash, produced by incinerating household waste, is reused to form the base layer of new roads.
Moreover, our storage center deals with non-recyclable waste. The biogas naturally given off by this waste is harnessed as a resource to produce heat, which is consumed by a local business. As such, we are able to generate energy from waste that could not have otherwise been recycled.
Our facility strives to set an example when it comes to protecting local biodiversity. We inaugurated an information path to raise awareness among walkers and children from nearby schools about the importance of the precious ecosystem supported by Brittany’s moors.
