Handling contaminated effluent after a fire
In the event of a fire on a ICPE, regulations require that all water used during extinguishing be collected in a basin and then analyzed. They are then discharged or evacuated to an approved treatment center depending on the results of the analyses.
Using a 30-ton shovel, teams from Séché Urgences Interventions (SUI) first secured the potentially reactive products present on site. To prevent any risk of the fire restarting, they also set up surveillance of any hot spots thanks to its thermographic cameras.
The actual pumping collected over 270 m3 of fire water. 270 m3 to be evacuated as quickly as possible. In record time, SUI succeeded in mobilizing nearly 12 tankers and finding an approved treatment center ready to receive them by the weekend.
The resources in place

Environmental pollution: an expert, certified solution
Capable of mobilizing equipment and personnel trained and empowered in fire and chemical risks at any time, SUI was able to carry out this delicate operation while ensuring the safety of people and the environment. QSE-certified expertise (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45 001)
