Transforming waste into energy

At our Triadis Rouen facility, our team of 51 employees specializes in treating and compiling industrial hazardous waste.

We manage liquid hazardous waste using two units – the evaporation/incineration unit and the hazardous waste thermal treatment unit. The heat given off by burning this waste is harnessed to generate 50,000 MWh each year. This energy, enough to heat 2,800 homes, is supplied to a local manufacturing company, thereby promoting a genuine circular economy and industrial ecology.

We also handle all types of hazardous waste, including industrial gas, asbestos waste, PCB waste, and solvents requiring regeneration. By fostering synergies with other facilities operated by the Group, we are able to treat or recover this hazardous waste.

Our equipment

Management: hazardous waste sorting and compilation platform

Here, we transport, compile and recondition small quantities of industrial and household hazardous waste.

Treatment: the evaporation/incineration unit for liquid hazardous waste

Energy recovery: the thermal treatment unit for hazardous waste

Hazardous waste is incinerated at 850°C in our 14-m long rotary kiln.

Treating bottom ash to foster a circular economy

Incombustible waste, known as bottom ash, is cooled before any metal is removed using an electromagnetic overband, then temporarily stored safe from the weather in hermetic storage cells. Subsequently, the waste is sent to an authorized storage facility. Each year, 2,500 tons of scrap metal is extracted as part of this process and sent to a steelworks to be recycled.

Treating smoke to protect the environment

Combustion smoke contains acid gases and mineral traces. To protect the environment, we neutralize this discharge by injecting lime, we capture the metal particles and dioxins, then filter the dust. Furthermore, we constantly analyze the smoke to monitor its composition.
