Years of experience treating hazardous waste and innovating

Having been set up by a group of chemists from south-east France in 1976, Trédi Saint Vulbas has been operating in the region for many years. The teams at Trédi Saint Vulbas treat highly complex hazardous industrial waste in all its states - liquid, solid, sludge, or gas.

With two thermal treatment plants, nine treatment channels and two gas treatment workshops, we provide high value-added solutions to bring about the environmental transition and safely handle complex waste. Our facility is listed under French environment protection regulations (ICPE) and classed upper tier Seveso. The specialists at Trédi Saint Vulbas have developed a range of expertise for which they are renowned throughout the world, systematically integrating a circular economy approach.

Treating industrial gas

Whether they’re dealing with greenhouse gas or specialty gas used by gas works, chemical works, micro electronics or local authorities, our two workshops enable us to safely handle gas cylinders. Once the gas has been incinerated, the metal cylinders are washed before being reused or recycled.

Regenerating bromine

Our innovative process enables us to recover 99% of the bromine contained in brine produced by certain industrial procedures. The element, which used to simply be eliminated, can be reused instead of sourcing virgin bromine, generally produced and transported from the Dead Sea. Recycling bromine in this way cuts CO2 emissions 20 fold compared with virgin bromine!

Eliminating PCBs

Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are highly polluting chemical compounds whose production is now banned, but they were widely used as a coolant in electric transformers. At Trédi Saint Vulbas, we eliminate PCBs and treat the transformers so the metal components may be reused or recycled.

Positioning environmental protection as an integral part of what we do

We monitor the performance of our facilities and equipment 24/7, while also ensuring our emissions remain within acceptable levels. We bolster these rigorous checks by inviting accredited bodies to conduct analysis, and add redundancy to our measurement instruments, which are regulated by a strict, regulated methodology. Reducing the impact of waste on the environment is not just our job, it is also our passion and vocation.

Taking action to preserve biodiversity

Since 2014, we have actively been taking steps to preserve biodiversity. We develop spaces that provide favorable habitats for local plants that attract bees, and encourage our people to take part in workshops to raise awareness about the importance of biodiversity. Our efforts are carried out in partnership with an independent naturalist and local stakeholders.

Developing lasting relationships with businesses, public bodies and institutions

Deeply rooted within the regions in which we operate, we endeavor to develop strong partnerships with local non-profits and academic institutions. Wherever possible, we favor the use of short supply chains and also play an active role in business networks and partnerships. Moreover, we are proud to participate in regional development projects.

Helping disabled people get into and stay in work

We systematically communicate our job offers to specialist recruitment agencies (Cap Emploi), and we inform and support our employees in preparing their paperwork to get their disability recognized. Furthermore, we suggest adaptations to their workstations after conducting an ergonomic assessment and taking account of the occupational health physician. In addition, we get involved each year in the Week for the Employment of People with Disabilities by organizing events to give people an insight into what we do.
